What is POP3?
POP3 allows you or your employees to have their own email address using their own company domain name. Allowing them to use our mail server for sending and receiving all email via the mail server, to either their work, home dial up or Mobile Phone, PDAs and Handheld PC. If they have sales people or travelling aboard they will also be able to pick up their email. This allows you to look professional and advertise your business or yourself.

It provides basic e-mail functionality through a simple Web interface, allowing users to read mail easily from anywhere in the world without having to reconfigure a browser or mail client software. It also allows sending and opening attachments easily from your desktop.

POP3 has become the most common email client connection protocol.
These will allow all you or your employees to have their own email address using their own company domain name. Allowing them to use our mail server for sending and receiving all email via the mail server, to either their work or home dial up. If they have sales people or travelling aboard they will also be able to pick up their email.
You will require email clients that support Authenticate SMTP (ASMTP) i.e. username and password for sending mail (This reduces risk of Spam). Recent versions of mail software, that support this includes Eudora, Pegasus, Outlook and Outlook express.
Your email client talks to our email server to send it commands to login, get mail status, and send and receive email. The most common protocol used by email clients to communicate with email servers is the Post Office Protocol.
The POP3 protocol enables any email program anywhere on the Internet to connect to any email server to perform the usual email functions, such as reading and sending, as long as they have a valid account and password.
